who said that? DmitriGheorgheni said that ....
ah yes! yes! yes! .........
surrender to the duende! the duende! .....
perhaps not quite what you mean .. perhaps related to what you mean .. perhaps completely different to what you mean here in this magnificent essay .... ... but this magnificent essay reminds me of it anyway ...
what does it remind you of??? I hear you cry ...
well ... this reminds me of that magnificent piece of writing by Garcia Lorca ... entitled Theory and Play of The Duende ... on the subject of the duende .. that strange other feeling that takes over the psyche and soul during the act of creation .....

allow me to quote if I'm allowed ..

.... I hope that the culture of art criticism never ever undermines these other states ... or worse .. never ever prevents the journey into these other states ...that DG and Lorca speak about ... this other kind of art ....
I've been around artists in these states .. and its ... whoah .. amazing ... a healing force .. know what I mean ...
not to knock the culture of art criticism .. I don't anything about it in fact..so who am I to talk .. I think it might be an ancient culture ... perhaps goes back even to Greek theatre or something .. must find out ....
... I just hope that the different cultures can co-exist ... overlap .. inspire each other ... have together ....
If I was an essayist I would go on about how I was inspired by this essay of DG's and I would I would go on about how art can be inspired play ... or how art can be a surrender to delight beyond the self .. as a surrender to a wonder ..to a healing force beyond the self .. even if that wonder gets a bit peculiar at times ... ...
as well as all the other things it can be .. sort of thing .. like ...
but I'm not an essayist ... .. so I'm going away now ..
Happy Easter to all at
and thanks for inspiration ...

Wow. Thank you. I am humbled to know I touched - however tangentially - the work of Garcia Lorca.
And thrilled to know there is something called 'duende'. I did not know this word. Now I will go back to that bookmarked text and study it.
As always, I am grateful for the remarks, and the insight, and the encouragement, and for being steered in the direction of something really beautiful. The great thing about something like that is that it strikes a chord deep inside and makes you say, yes! Just as you said, yes!
Have a great Easter!
