" 'Rose' was the 'Bad Wolf' by leaving it as a message to herself, she recognises it as a message stimulating her to mean something in life, to take part in the events.
It is reminding her of 'The Doctor', even when he says to forget him.
'The Vortex' as the 'Bad Wolf' creating the opportunity to 'spam' it over the series.

(smiley - llabwons ( ( ( Did they encounter the 'Bad Wolf' signal also in the inbetween journeys ? ) ) ) smiley - snowball)

'The Tardis' was the 'Bad Wolf', being keeper of 'The Time Vortex'
'The Dalek God' was the 'Bad Wolf', being creater of a threathening situation.
'Pete Tyler' was the 'Bad Wolf' an ever losing predator (gambler?), but always trying again.
'The Doctor' was the 'Bad Wolf' she was referring to, he always brings disaster where he goes. (magpie) Or perhaps in the dangerous old man he is.

Perhaps as usual we got it all wrong, the question that is. smiley - biggrin We should not ask --ho is the 'Bad Wolf', the question should be more like: what does the sign mean?

On the concrete playground, 'Mickey': *But that grafity is there already for years !* I can not imaginge she would not have noticed.

Sho - employed again!

But it only became significant (I mean really significant) when they turned up, saw Badwolf corp, realised it was hiding something bad and then met the Dalek army.

My question is this, though: did everyone come back to life? On the satellite and on the planet? or only poor ol' Jack.

(can I join the queue to have him for Chistmas, Easter and any other festival?)

What she did looked like she removed their grand father the Dalek God from existance prior to the attack, even prior to the rebuilding of the dalek army."

I wondered about the other dead people, bearing in mind that seemed to include most of the planet, if not all of it. Did she mend earth? How will they find Jack again, did she resurrect the others?

smiley - erm I might get lynched for this, but I was slightly disappointed by the whole thing...

Ok, the doctor's reactions to being forced to choose between letting the dalek's live and killing everyone were great - as was Jack's character development, but I felt the whole Bad Wolf thing was undersold - why Badwolf... Why that particular message?. In addition, it might have already been said, but I felt the way the daleks were just made to disappear was just too easy!

Oh, and despite the fact I'd already seen David Tennant in Casanova and knew what he looked like... For a split second after the regeneration sequence I had this horrible thought of 'My God, they've given the job to The Hampster from Top Gear'...

Anyone else notice the resemblance between DT and Richard Hammond?

You are right - he IS like the hamster in Top Gear.

I am worried about Tennant.

CE gave the strong impression that he larked around because he really truly couldn't *bear* the pain that he constantly felt; in Casanova, on the other hand, Tennant gave the strong impression that he larked around because he was too shallow not to.

If his Doctor ends up as shallow as his Casanova was, then I am not really going to be that interested. I still have the 3rd Ep of Casanova unwatched on tape, that's how much it all gripped me. smiley - erm

You'll forgive me but he's an ACTOR. What they do is ACT. Casanova was too shallow to do anything else. That's inherent in the nature of the story of 'Europe's greatest lover'. That doesn't do anything but reflect well on DT's ability to convey that.

And Captain Jack won't be back for Xmas. He won't be back for a good chunk of series 2, as the writers want a chance to establish Tennant's Doctor befor ereintroducing another character who has to share screen time.

Personally, I thought RTD managed to pull the whole thing together brilliantly. All the stuff that many had been moaning about - the soapy elements, the stuff about Rose on Earth came together brilliantly in a final episode of immense power. And ben is exactly right about 'Bad Wolf'. It may appear anti-climatic to people who have been uber-smiley - geeking. To those that haven't, it was pretty magnificent, I can tell you.smiley - ok

Ben, don't forget he's an actor, he's playing a different part. It depends *why* the character is written as larking about (if indeed, he is). On the other hand, if he's got rid of the burden of the Time War, which the implication from his exhaling of the time vortex (still not convinced by that one. In order to make it fit in my head I'm going to pretend they said 'time winds', then it makes sense) he did, then maybe be can have fun for the sake of fun, maybe he can just enjoy the lifestyle.

Simupost BS. Although I still want to know why the Hell there wasn't a big crowd around the Tardis when Rose, Jackie and Mickey were trying to wrench it open. Frankly around here the sound of an engine revving like that has people sticking their head out the oub straight away.

Rose said she didn't remember anything - and she is the only one who knows that Captain Jack is alive on a deserted space station - even the Earth has been torched so there's no help for him...

Captain Jack doesn't strike me as the kid of person who would enjoy solitude.

Plus he may react badly to the Doctor changing when they finally go back (the Tardis may be the key here).

smiley - tea

I guess I'm blessed that I've never seen DT in anything prior to Doctor Who - I watched the original Frank Finlay Casanova so had no interest in the new series.

So it'll be interesting comparing notes with you lot - smiley - smiley

The whole script for Parting of the Ways was posted in advance on the IMDb message board.
Except for one lie - which he said we had to guess.
I read the whole thing through and the only lie was that Rose lost her memory when the Tardis sent her back to earth.

I'm astonished that everything else he posted (even the Dalek's silent EX-TER-MIN-ATE outside the space station when they killed Lynda) was true, even Rose's mother turning up in a breakdown truck to open the Tardis heart.

I wish I hadn't read it and I'm never going there again, curse those BBC moles!smiley - headhurts

Yeah, but some actors can act more than others, and some can act specific emotions better than others. You guys know that as well as I do. *sulk*

I didn't say "He can't do depth" I said "I haven't seen him do depth".

Has the Dr exorcised his Time War deamons? I didn't pick that up from Saturday? It is his multi-dimensionalism which appeals to me, to be honest. I wouldn't like him without deamons.

I took that as the reason for his peaceful look after he's breathed out, that he'd got rid of his survivor's guilt'. The character will always have demons lurking though, given how much death he's seen, he's just not going to be as obsessed with them anymore.

Aye. He will still be the last Time Lord, and thats bound to weigh a bit.

I hinted at it on the other thread, but who wants to take a bet that the one serious loose end from this series, Adam, returns as a pre-cursor of the Cybermen?
