I hope this Dr Who is as good as the 1960s version.......of course, like Woodstock, you had to be there

To go back to the Kelly Holm's jumping out of a Dalek idea
I cant get the image of Darleks in the London Olympic stadium out of my head
I can see the London Olympic theme being the war of the worlds theme
The Terry Nations Daleks would fit in with that as they were inspired by HG wells
And the time machine (the London eye?)would be a good narrative to express Britons cultural heritage.
Obviously there would have to be a lot more as well .

I think that to stay in keeping with the Olympic spirit, the Daleks would have to compete as a nation. I'm not sure how well they would do at the High Jump, say, but their potential in the shooting competitions must be good. Or perhaps the IOC would consider introducting some new events.
*has images of Daleks trundling along parallel bars, Daleks wrestling, Daleks parading in opening ceremony* I need some serious sleep.

DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me! Posted Mar 23, 2005
One of the funniest episodes of Top Gear, was the one where they had a race between various science fiction characters, which included a Dalek. Annoyed that it couldn't get into a car, it exterminated all the other contestants!

Just found an excellent bit in The Telegraph about Billie Piper:
"Chris Evans's former consort is the Doctor's new companion, Rose - and unlike in the old days, the show is focused as much on her character as the Time Lord's. The tabloids have applauded this recognition that things have moved on since 1963, which is why they've printed so many photographs of her in her knickers."
Well quite.

Apple Adelaide - despair ye not. I might just manage to smuggle a copy of the series into NZ when I get my act together and visit/move later in the year. Depends if the series is finished or not by that time!

According to that, they'll appear in Episode 6.

Hang on a minute, does that mean each week is a complete story
So we won't have the cliff hanger where the Dr Who music kicks in.

Zak T Duck Posted Mar 24, 2005
There are apparently going to be a couple of two parters so no doubt there's room for the odd cliffhanger.
Dr Who
michael salkeld Posted Mar 25, 2005
These days we sort of expect the next episode to be on the next day ,or on a digital channel right after the first part.
Waiting a whole week for another half hour installment seems to be going out of fashion.
I don't think I mind really.

I like a bit of continuity in TV. It always annoys me when at the end of an episode, everything is the same as it was at the beginning. Then along came Farscape...

Really? I recall it being an around midnight thing. For some reason I'm also having vague memories of Channel 5. Am I totally off the mark here?

I seem to remember B5 being on 4 at 6pm.Didn't it get shoved to a late night slot for the final series?
Dr Who
huzzah4knolly Posted Mar 26, 2005
I think it was the B5 spin off - Crusade ? that got shoved into a late night spot.
Less that an hour to go here in the UK

The final season of B5 did, for a number of reasons. One of them was that sci-fi wasn't "in" at the time, and the other was because of a handful of plot-critical scenes in a number of the episodes that wouldn't have been deemed suitable for a pre-watershed audience.
