Soup & a Sandwich

Well to continue the food theme...
===========================================
"Soup & a sandwich" my Father would say
whenever we were about, on our way,
no matter that the sun wasn't shining!
It was the Old Ship pub, we would dine in
the garden, crisps would then brighten my day
although the sky would be cloudy and grey.
"If's and and's and pots and pans" was Mother's
reply to my questions that'd shower
possibilities of how life would run.
Return to a life with plenty of sun,
remember the joy in a young flower,
and bring a smile from your overcast glower.

Sorry for the delay, DaRK.
I found this poem to be really interesting, which means Great Fab Super Terrific and Very Good .
You clearly know how to write well, which suggests to me that you've written quite a few poems before. It's clear in the language and the form, and the nice structure of Father for verse 1 and Mother for verse 2. The two first couplet - "Father" to "way" and the start of verse 2 "Ifs to "run" are sensational. They capture the characters of 'your' father and mother and the young 'you' briefly but evocatively. This is incisive and talented use of language, the tone and quality consistent throughout. All in all a marvellously evocative poem, and a poem I really liked and enjoyed.

Sorry - typo
'The two first couplet' should read 'The first couplet'. Hope it didn't spoil my comments.
