Metal Chicken Posted May 24, 2003
Thoroughly enjoyed watching episodes 1 & 2. Thanks for letting us know about this
Trouble is, I want to know what happens next and no amount of right-clicking and selecting forward or play will get episode three to work for me
Is it just me? Any more suggestions Peet?

I just tried it and it worked perfectly for me - that was on the high bandwidth and Flash Player settings. What settings are you trying?

As of this coming weekend, by the way, they're releasing files one a day rather than all at once.

Try deleting Temporary internet files (apart from cookies)and reload the page. This should correct the problem .

Metal Chicken Posted May 26, 2003
Well, I don't know why it should make a difference, but I deleted the temporary internet files and after a couple of refreshes it's working fine today.
Excellent stuff.

It is rather good isn't it. Sadly only two more episodes to go though.

Metal Chicken, I see what you mean... I watched it, but haven't figured out how to play the saved version yet... That is, "yet"...

"The story contains many links to Douglas' later 'Dirk Gently' novels,"
Douglas took his Shada plot and wrote DG's Holistic Detective Agency using it. Professor Chronotis is in both, not sure about the other characters.

Ah Jim, me-laddo, there you are! Question for you...
Will the full series remain online indefinitely after the final episode is loaded? Or is there an expiry date?
I ask because:
1/ I have posted links to this wonderful 'flashback' all over my h2g2 homepage and I wouldn't want to have to lose them.
2/ I also intend to promote the link (via CAC) in the June 12th issue of because I'm sure the original h2g2 Announcement didn't reach every DNA or Dr Who fan. If there has been any discussion other than this short thread, I've missed it. So I assume there are still many others who would enjoy a 'new' Who as much as I or You.

Smij - Formerly Jimster Posted May 30, 2003
There will be an expiry date, as with the previous web-dramas (usually about six months after the end of the broadcast). After then, the audio-only version will be available on CD.

I'm looking forward to finally being able to listen to this. My chome computer connection is horribly slow, but since I have to work this Saturday I may actually have a chance to listen.

Thanks Jim.
I'll leave the link on my homepage until it fails.
I find it hard to believe there has not been more enthusiasm and discussion for this project. Or am I missing another conversation thread somewhere.
If the forty odd postings here are all the reaction there has been then I have to believe more people would be interested and that more promotion should be made, so if no one objects I'll provide a link in the next issue of <./>AggGag</.>/CAC.
