Don't put web addresses* into your nicknames because, thanks to some amazing BBCi reasoning, you're not allowed to. So there. By the way, we've actually had this policy in place for some time, but we forgot to put it into the house rules before now. However, we're telling you now because it gives you another thread to go off-topic on and start using as a talking point about teapots or something like that.**
=======
*For s: Yes, I know what the differences between web addresses and URLs is, but this is supposed to be a general announcement.

I hope this means we can still put A numbers in our names...
And don't call me thick, I'd just like to clarify

It would appear so. All nicknames are reviewed - ie moderated - though it isn't obvious until you get home one day and find that you are not a name you are a number.
There is a small but select band of people who have been made into un-person's by the BBC.

Hi Manda
We would not fail a Researcher name for having an A number in their name, as we recognise it is a useful way of promoting Community activity. It is a not a complete web address and is only of any use within DNA.
