Touche
Dragons - mythical? As there are real ones; Komodo dragons. But they're nowhere near as fancy as

But they are just named after dragons. Like dragonflies
There was a guy who was doing some research on if real dragons existed what kind of anatomy should they have had. To be able to breathe fire and all. It seems they would have some stuff in their body that would cause their bodies to sort of melt after they died. Which could explain why we find no remains of then. Also there are a few legends concerning dragons that melt when they die.

The movie 'Reign of Fire' explained the fire breathing in technical terms, about glands of fluid which when combined, produced fire. Quite an interesting hypothesis.
Reminds me of seeing the movie 'Godzilla' (the new one), and being disappointed when it only breathed normal fire, and not green rays

It seems those melting dragons I mentioned would have had very strong hydrocloric acid in their stomachs. Then eating metals would cause hydrogen to be created which should give them lift, as well as being able to give them a flammable breath.

that's really interesting! I'm going to have to get some science books for christmas
So the hydrocloric acid would dissolve the metals, giving off hydrogen. Presumably something would have to be added to the hydrogen to make it flammable?

Well, hydrogen can easily burn I think. It can easily react with oxygen, and there is a lot of it. Though hopefully a dragon would have asbestos lips or something.
I imagine the breathing fire idea is more caused by creatures spitting poison.

Mythical creatures do exist, just scientists have been denying their exsistence for a while now, and they don't want to say, 'Okay, we were wrong, they do exist', cause people will just say, 'Oh these dumbass scientists, what do they know.' And besides, you can't really call some stuff 'scientific evidence' cause some of it is hard to place... I definately believe in guardian angels and personal demons.

According to Merriam-Webster, a myth is:
"Pronunciation: 'mith
Function: noun
Etymology: Greek mythos
Date: 1830
1 a : a usually traditional story of ostensibly historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon b : PARABLE, ALLEGORY
2 a : a popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone; especially : one embodying the ideals and institutions of a society or segment of society b : an unfounded or false notion
3 : a person or thing having only an imaginary or unverifiable existence
4 : the whole body of myths"
So....according to them, it is something based either in fact or in imagination....so it may or may not be real. LOL

Coolie! That's an interesting theory...... I think dragons did exist, they probably got killed by humans who didn't want their towns wreaked....... Maybe they had people who where dragon hunters, like in my story, that would be so cool!
