A Conversation for Talking Point: Public Transport
Trent Buses and the strike
Little Witch Started conversation Dec 4, 2003
Well for those not in the nottingham area our bus service is run by a company called Trent Barton. In the past month we have found out that the only route that runs through our village is going to be cut down, fares are going up and now the bus drivers are going on strike on the saturdays leading up to christmas. I can understand the drivers striking because this year they were only offered a 22p (an hour) pay rise, that isn't even the rate of inflation!
The problem is up here is that how can public transport be "public" when half of the people can't use it because their bus routes have been cancelled?
