hello
Wonder if I could ask a question. I've been designing some pictures and things which I would like to include on the web. I've moved these from their original format (pixelmator/photoshop) into high quality jpegs, and they are all quite decent res images, but when uploading and writing the tags for these so I can put them on a page, I find that the images turn out very pixellated and unusually small, no matter how much I adjust the width tags.
Anyone know why this might be and would be grateful if anyone could give me some pointers on how to create images that would be ok for the web. Just to let you know, I'm not using any CSS with this, it's purely using the basic tags.
sorry if this is a daft question, but thought I'd ask the people in the know!
cheers
Kaz.

Make sure you set the image resolution to 72 ppi, then the size you see at 100% in Photoshop will match the size when uploaded to the web. And do your resizing in Photoshop - using the width setting in HTML just stretches or squashes the image making it appear *more* pixelated. And keep in mind that when you upload to some services, they automatically create a thumbnail version and you are expected to click the thumbnail to see the full version. Also, some services automatically resize the image, so no matter how large an image you upload you end up with images all the same size - in that case it's best to do your scaling in photoshop and just upload something that is already at the target size.
