Yes, it looks like many people are interested in the H2G2 format, problem being, because it's GPL companies may take it and use it, H2G2 would become less original and more like the vbBB.

Ah, but I am thinking that a distribution version would include an OpenDNA skin not an h2g2 - so the site would be themed. I see your point, but duplication of h2g2 itself is called 'competition'. Ultimately, anything playing off the h2g2 name is a matter for the BBC Legal people.

However, developing OpenDNA shouldn't cause these problems if it becomes versatile and customisable enough...

Oh, and as for the other people's work thing:

1) Required copyright notice
2) Be discreet and give people little reason to remove the notice
3) Engage site developers in a central forum structure to encourage people to work together and offer each other tech support.
