I really enjoyed reading this joke, and I was wondering if you'd like it linked to in the H2G2 Joke Directory.

Thanks BB for the invite. In fact it was after looking through the joke directory that I decided to put pen to paper (as it were) and jot down the Golfing Jesus joke. I fully intended to offer it to you but sort of got side-tracked and forgot about it, which is why it's taken three weeks to reply to your message.

I would be honoured to have it included in the directory and/or the Post - if you can suggest any improvements please feel free to do so.

Thanks for including the joke in the directory - it's in there now, under "Everything - Hobbies".
I'll make sure it's included in the Post, would you be happy about it going in next week? Sometimes a joke appears in the post if I can think of how that joke is relevant to modern events, but I can't always. There's not going to be a Ryder's Cup trophy until next year, so I'll just include it when I can.
If you ever write any more jokes, definately let me know and I'll be honoured to include them.

Incidentally, how did you find it - a search using the word 'joke'? Surely that would list absolutely loads of them! If so then I'm impressed by your commitment.

Yes, that's exactly what I did - searched through the search engine using the word "joke". I didn't look at all the entries, though, only the ones with promising titles, and yours was the best I discovered. So I'm happy. I guess it shows how much I want other people's jokes to be in the directory as so far it is very one-sided, with almost all of them supplied by me, under one name or another.
So I'm really glad that your joke is now included. Although I confess I too know nothing about Golf.

I'm one of those terminally sad people whose major usage of e-mail is to recieve and pass on jokes. I'll type up any that I think are good and let you know.

Yeah, I quite enjoy mt time on h2g2. It's been around 4 months since I registered (DNA's death finally spurred me into action) and I'm quite surprised that I still log on now almost as much as did for the first month. Not many things capture and retain my attention like that.

Most of my time I've spent writing entries (3 edited, 2 pending and 2 in PR - nowhere near as prolific as you, I see!) but I do occasionally read other entries or join in conversations. How would you recommend finding new conversations to join? Most of the ones I join are through Peer Review, either about my own or other researcher's entries.

I've met a researcher called Zaphod (one of many under that moniker) who has written some fine entries - if you see any around I urge you to take a look as they're generally very well done.

So how about you? I can guess from the subject of many of your entries where you live, but I see you have also written a fine entry on one of my favourite films: 2001. Hurrah! You did a better job than I would have got around to doing.

The only reason I've so many articles written is because I've been here for over 2 1/2 years - when you've been around on the guide for that long, you'll definately have quite a few articles under your belt - you've done very well so far for only having been here for 4 months. I didn't really write any until I'd been here about 6, so you're catching up on me.

The best way to join conversations is to be bold, and start them yourself. Or subscribe to articles about topics you like, and then when a conversation starts on that page, it is almost guarunteed to be one you'll enjoy. But that's pretty much what you're doing with Peer Review anyway. It depends on the type of conversation you wish to get into. Many are serious, others are less so - I'm in a mixture of both, including several almost "roll-playing" ones centred around a swimming pool, waterworks & beach which I started specifically to create conversations. You're welcome any time to pop in and plunge in the deep end - I'd enjoy it if you did. All you need to do is turn up and imagine you are in a swimming pool/beach etc, and let your imagination take over. Very silly, but fun. There's even a bikini competition starting which you can enter. Last year about 20 people did, and only about half received any votes, so it's not really about who wins, but more the fun of being involved and pretending to be in a competition. If you're interested in any of that, then let me know and I'll give you links to the threads & articles. Or tag along and find out for yourself.

Just do what you wish.
