Why "Dentonites"?

Is it because of Arthur Dent? Then why not Dentites? Or would that be confused with things dental, like how ghastly your teeth must look after sipping tea all day without brushing them?
Or would it be "Dentonites" after Dr. Denton's, makers of fine jammies?
By the way, is "jammies" short for pyjamas, or is it whatever you happen to be wearing, that has jam on it from something you had with tea?

The cult is named after Arthur Dent, I noticed the mistake after the entry had been written and by that time people had signed up so the name stuck. It should be Dentites, but as you can see from our code of conduct, why bother changing things, have a nice hot cup of
