Good Luck for the visit GD - you know where we are if you need a rant or a - I really do know what mothers can be like *
I have been grown up and sensible with my choice of car - I am going to be doing 90ish miles each way each day so I ave gone for a diesel. That having been said I am having a great car - Audi A4 1.9 130bph TDi SE in a beautiful blue purple colour. Dont know when It will arrive tho!
* hopes GD does not feel too green as it may not go with her new car *
* helps hereself to *
Good Luck GD! See you soon

*clack clack clack clack clack - clouds of blue smoke*
Ahh here comes LHG in her new tractor
I know its just blind prejudice on my part, but I strongly believe that the only things that should be powered by diesel are farming implements. Given the choice between a BMW 340CDi and Citroen 2CV I would choose the petrol powered Citroen every time
Well mother has disappeared off to Somerset and I'm taking the rest of the day off to recover. Actually it all passed off rather well. We didn't have any arguments (a first) and we had a good time wandering around town and the beach over the weekend. I took her out for a meal on Sunday night and she drove off at about 11am.

I know what you mean about diesel vehicles This is the only grown up and sensible thing I am going to do this year though!
I am glad that your mothers vist went well. I had a row with mine over the weekend and she was not even here
I hope you have enjoyed your day off and feel totally recovered ...

*almost dies laughing*
In do have a skateboard somewhere that you could borrow. And I'm sure that I could rustle up a second hand Massey Ferguson if push came to shove
*recovers composure at least briefly*
Have you considered walking? Yes I know its out of the county up the road and miles away. But have you considered walking?
*collapses into another fit of the giggles*
The only time I had to use a V******l was for a couple of weeks after I had crashed my car. I hated the experience The controls worked the car for sure, but I felt no connection between me working a pedal or the wheel and something happening on the road. It got to the point where I was so frustrated with the driving experience that I pumped the car up to about 70 along Hove sea front (very long and very straight and with only one speed camera) and then slammed on the brakes to see if I could feel a response. Yes, just
I was so happy when my Peugeot was delivered back to me

I know what you mean about the cars! After my Alfa I really notice the differance in the drivability.
Would you relly lend me the skateboard - that may well be my best option?
Which P do you have?
I could not get on line last night
What was different? New Glasses, a haircut?

What's changed? Well look upwards an inch or so on your screen to where my name is on this posting. Concentrate your attentions to the little bit written between "GreyDesk" and "[Owls, Blades, sinking feeling....."

Welcome fellow ACE!
how are you finding it?
Rollos
GreyDesk Posted Nov 22, 2001
All a bit of a shock actually. I was wandering around late Tuesday night and wandered across the ACE volunteer thread and decided to put my name forward after all. I didn't expect anything for weeks, as the recruitment round had just been done, but instead I got this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F27078?thread=152611 "Punter to ACE in under 10 hours" :-D And for at least 9 of those hours, any normal person would not have been at their office desk. So far I have been updating My Space to reflect my new found status (and of course admiring my shiny new badge :-).) The plan is to spend some time over the weekend preparing an intro spiel and a page of useful links for folk to use.
