A Conversation for Shropshire, England
UK Counties & Regions - England - Shropshire

Known for many years by the rather horrid-sounding name of 'Salop', Shropshire is home to the world's first iron bridge (at Ironbridge, funnily enough!), a variety of castles and even Shrewsbury Abbey, home of the fictional medieval monk detective Cadfael. But what else do you know about this pretty county? Share your knowledge with us and help us to write an entry about Shropshire.

I live in shropshire, I can't think of anything useful about it but I am quite happy to answer any questions if that would help

Hurrah! As soon as I have time I'll rough out an entry and stick it in the collaborative writing workshop - look out for it there, fellow Salopians, and feel free to contribute!

There it is, empty right now, but waiting for Salopians to fill it up! I'll write a bit myself as soon as I have some time, but in the meantime some contributions would be welcome!

I'm delighted to announce that we already have two County entries in Peer Review, waiting to receive any bouquets or brickbats that people might lob in their general direction! If you're currently either working on or contributing to a County entry of your own right now, you might like to have a quick look to see how some other researchers have tackled this challenge. They are: County Fermanagh (A6092606) and Norfolk (A6108473).
Hope you enjoy reading them!

The entry is in the collaborative writing workshop, meaning that everyone who helps gets credit When the entry becomes edited, everyone who helped will be listed as a writer and the editor will be listed as the editor. I'll also get extra credit as the person who put the entry together from everyone's suggestions. If anyone else suggests anything, that is...
