New menings of the word new (or Nu)

I agree with everything you say daddypants, whoever heard of heavy metal without 9 minute guitar solos! It shouldn't be allowed. Also, the word new has replaced the marvellous word indicated by the cockney rhyming slang expression "Barry White". Those of us based in Britain will be only too aware of the two other prime suspects in this case, "New" Labour, and their "New" Deal!

Tony "T-funkenmaster-in-da-howz" B-laring Noize, and his Posse G-string Browntrousers, Smoke-a-Jay Strawdog and all the rest, giving it most large in the House (of commons)

Oh, I dunno, could look kinda funky? Especially from the Tonemaster General himself. And Prescott's already got the 'tude sorted, you must have seen him lamp the eggman.

the only sort of metal band jack straw could be in would be at the drive in...and they imploded cos of their own pretentiousness.

Yeah, but The Almighty were a scots metal band, and they were quite good. But rather mind-melting, agreed.

I don't think I ever claimed that the Rollers were any good (shang-a-lang) I never liked them (Bye Bye Baby) at all! In fact they sucked, big time! I was trying to remember some good scots metal bands, and I could only think of the Almighty. Who I used to really like. Yeah.
Mind you, if I'd thought my PC was making allegations of the Rollers being good, I'd have rebelled against it.

Idlewild not metal, they Indy cack. AC/DC are second only to the mighty Sabbath in metal terms.
