Well paul, the ¢ isn't exactly a ø, but we get it!
Unfortunately it looks like you're using a codepage where you can't use ø and Ø. Try alt-237, if you're using the american codepage 437, it should be a null set symbol looking quite like Ø. (I can't make it!)
You should be able to use ø and Ø simply by cutting and pasting them!

Once again my undying thanks/gratitude to you, Ottox!
I've got the letters ø and Ø at home, having installed the extra keyboard letters on my Windows 98 PC there. The problem is actually if I want to write from my station at work, where the PCs are running on a (supposedly!) more recent version of Windows, but will not accept my attempts to 'download' the extra letters for Danish/Swedish correspondence via the Control Panel (even the Swedish letters have to be inserted by using ALT + ).
Minor problem, really: but I feel selfconscious occasionally when I have to 'cheat' with the spelling of names if I write to friends (or customers!) from my workstation!

I used to work for a newpaper, I know that feeling of dread that comes from spelling a name different, be it on purpose, (i.e. the person is a g***,) by accident or by typo. Still very BAD!
Have a party! - Kimster

Hi.
"g***" is actually an acronym for "horse". It's a long story...
What kinda paper? Big daily, middle-sized weekly or commercially financed doormat?
BTW - I'll not be here for a week starting monday, as I must be the victim of surgery in hospital. No, don't worry, nothing major or dangerous, just jaw-surgery. The worst is that I'll be off-line; no Internet on the ward... Call that a modern health-system! Yuck.
But when I come back, I'll have another five weeks of recooperating and that means lotsa on-line time. I'll see you guys then.
That's why I haven't posted my picture here, it's about to change!
That was all for now, I'll see if I can get online again Sunday.
Greetings to all - Kimoto

25.000 copies? Eww, that's more than I ever had. (Actually there were 34.750 copies for some time, but when not counting the people who never read it, i score far below 25.000...)
Surgery completed. I look like a cross between a sumo-wrestler and a make-up commercial gone haywire, but thankfully almost no pain. Oh, and six weeks on pure liquid /blended / mashed foods. Cool, my first january not needing a diet!!
Just got home - G** I missed Internet while on the hospital.
Whaddaya do on that paper of yours? More specifically?

Basically it's my job to find all the errors that the journalists make - and replace them with my own...
Hey, it's a living!
Nah, seriously: I collect what our journalists write (and the pictures our photograpehers take) check it and place it on the sheets (with the advertisements). There's a lot more too it, of course, planning and such (that's why it takes 7.4 hours a day), but that's really all there is to say about it - unless you want me to ramble on for hours?

Ramble is good...
But knowing the industry, I think I can figure the rest.
Try finding something else to ramble on abaout for a while and I promise I'll read it!

Not if you don't want to.
I was just, as I said, currious!
My Christmas is traditionally spent with my parents, my brother and his family. This year we'll probably be at my brothers place.
New year, still not certain.
You guys?
