A Conversation for Talking Point: Fantasy Dinner Guests
Fantasy Dinner Party...

Who would be on your fantasy dinner guest list and why?
Douglas Adams - genius
Terry Pratchett - as above, and I think the conversation between them would be hilarious
Jim Henson - also a genius, and i think would get on with DA and TP
What burning questions have you got for them?
I am fascinated by the intricacies of the creative mind and what sparks the ideas off in their head. I mean, how on earth did DA come up with the idea for Zaphod, or JH come up with a talking frog, or TP with Nanny Ogg? Was it a person, or something they ate/drank/smoked?!
What would you cook and what drinks would you serve?
Food would be; assorted canapes including cripsy chorizo slices with cream cheese on top, and mini brushetta with tomato, basil and mozzarella. Starter would be leek and potato soup; main course would goats cheese and red onion tart with warm redcurrant sauce for anyone who is vegetarian (served with giant salad), and roast beef with medley of roast veg for the carnivores (who could also partake of the giant salad). Pudding would be a lemon tart with lemon sorbet or a chocolate truffle pot. Drinks would be sparkling wine, pinot grigio and merlot, and a range of liqueurs for after dinner.
What combination of historical figures and present-day ones would make for an interesting mix?
If you wanted to have a serious incident at a dinner party, you could have Henry VIII and Pope Benedict, with maybe Saladin in there too? Would make for interesting conversation re religion!!

Of course you can! Especially if you are any good at contacting the dead... because with my guest list, I sure am going to need it!
