Talking Point: Resolutions

Fireworks exploding.
A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other.

It's that time of year again. And as sure as we'll link arms and gustily sing whatever lines we can remember of 'Auld Lang Syne', many of us will take the opportunity to publically declare our intentions to give up some or other vice in the coming year.

But it's also a time to take stock of the last 12 months and to think if you're happy to be on whatever trajectory you've set yourself on. And as the dying bars of Burns' Hogmanay anthem ring out - and if you're not too busy pondering what on earth a 'cup of kindness' is - you may find yourself deciding to make a major change.

And, as always, we at h2g2 want to assist you. Consider this as a place to set out your manifesto for 2010.

  • Is there anything you've vowed to give up - or do more of - in the coming year? Tell us here.

  • Have you come to any life-changing decisions recently that you plan to act on in 2010?

  • Do you even believe in resolutions? Should it really take the start of a new year to kick-start you into doing something to better yourself?

It's over to you. Here's to a safe, happy and prosperous new year! And, remember, you're among friends...
