Radiohead - Plagarists?

5 Conversations

There are undeniable links between Radiohead's seminal album 'OK Computer' and Douglas Adams' radio play the 'Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy'. Firstly, the most obvious connection is that of the title of the second track on Radiohead's album, 'Paranoid Android'. This is also how 'Marvin', the robot character in Adams' play, is often referred. Next there is the title of the album. The phrase 'OK Computer' appears frequently when Zaphod Beeblebrox speaks to the computer of the spaceship 'Heart of Gold'. The final connection I have noticed is in relation to the opening theme music to both Adams' radio play and the television series of 'The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy'. If you compare this piece of music to the chorus of the penultimate track on 'OK Computer' entitled 'Lucky' you will notice vast similarities. Discuss.
