Now that'd be fun! Seeing a Queen concert is one of the things I'd do if I got a . I'd also see the Beatles and go back and see the Big Bang.

Actually, 40-50 pounds is quite reasonable for who they are. Most of the megabands (Madonna, Stones, Police etc.) seem to be hitting three-figure prices these days.
They're playing a number of other venues around the country...Nottingham, Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff and Liverpool. The only venue I can still see tickets on sale for (Nottingham) only has them at £49.50.

yes I know I'm probably being unrealistic, but I did see Crowded House for about £35 on fan presale which was very good, especially when I was at the front! I'm not saying I mind paying to see the good guys, of course not. It was just a comment. What really bugs me is bands like the Eagles having the nerve to charge £75 a ticket which I think is exploting the fans.

£75!?!?!? That's a bit much. Espevcially when you're buying at least 2, going for a meal before hand, buying the tour t-shirt etc.

exactly. And they had the arrogance to "justify" it on the radio when they were interviewed by saying effectively they were the "creme de la creme" (or something similar if my memory serves me correctly) and implying that made it ok.
I should add that I can't remember exactly what was said, but something to that effect.

Almost puts you off. Wouldn't pay that kind of money, even for the best seats.

hmm. Interesting. Was he singing in a different key or was it me? Not sure what to make of the vocals though. Shows how good Freddie was.

I love Newton Faulkner, but I'm not at all sure about this version. In places it seems quite good and then again...

Was quite good. Such a hard song to copy and Freddie had a unique voice. Newtown Falkner did well though.

Kaz Posted Apr 24, 2008
Yes I think it is a difficult song to carry off. "Good on 'im for 'avin a go" is what I say. Quite like his own songs so couldn't be too critical

Think he didn't try to "do a Freddie" but didn't completely change the song either. Think that helped. Seems to be impossible to copy Freddie, and changing a song too much kills it.

Do you remember that tv thing they did a couple of years ago where loads of artists did Queen songs? I was quite impressed with G4's Barcelona, but they then killed Bohemian Rhaopsody. Too posh.

NPY Posted Apr 27, 2008
I know!! Terrible. Just over pronouncing everything and far too operatic.
CLUBHOUSE
Kaz Posted Apr 29, 2008
yeah. Have to say I'm really not a fan of g4.
I think I must have an aversion to Queen covers anyway-I thought McFly's Don't Stop Me Now was awful too. (I think it was McFly).
