You know what they say about real politics after elections. The next campiegn season always begins the day after innauguration.
How long does an h2g2 Virtual Presidential term last?

The first election's results came at the end of September, 2000. So I reckon by that model... around 5 years?
But I think elections tend to be spontaneous. So y'all probably won't have to put up with me as VP for 5 whole years.

Ah, Mr. Vice President Elect.
I didn't vote for you folks I'm afraid. Hadn't even heard of ya.
I wasn't paying all that much attention so I pretty much voted for th efirst person who actually asked for my vote. That was Galigan, DragonQueen's running mate, who asked me to vote for DragonQueen.
Possibly in 2010, or whenever the next election is, I may try and get in myself.
What are you and the President Elect's vision for the future of h2g2 and what do you plan to do with your shiny new positions?

Do you plan on assmbling a cabinet or some such virtual political body to reward your supporters?

Oh that's okay. I understand.
Hyp and I haven't discussed our vision much (she wanted to, but I'm highly superstitious and thought discussing what we would do if we won would jinx things, and now she's off meeting some other h2g2 researchers) but *my* immediate priority after inauguration is to force the h2g2 editors to wear powdered wigs
We also have to assemble a cabinet. Seeing as Croz here is probably too tired of politics to take a job (if he's not he can have any one he so desires ) and I've got nothing else to do this afternoon, would you like a spot in the cabinet?

ME!? as what?
US Presidents generally appoint as cabinet members the folks who helped get themelected. Kind of helps transition from campeign to administration.
But yeah, why not go construct an entire virtual government. We could have a House of Representatives, each delegate being elected by the members of participating existing h2g2 Societies. And perhaps a virtual military and nuclear weapons program?

If someone wants to elect a House of Representatives, fine, but I'll have nothing to do with it I'm a member of the executive branch. Separation of powers and whatnot.
You as... whatever you want. I'm hoping Hyp will bring together a very inclusive cabinet.

You know, I might try and get together a Congress of h2g2.
That would be alot of work though ...
I'd need some help from other interested people. Bills passed by the Congresss would of course be subject to a presidential veto, unless they can get a 2 / 3 majority.
Perhaps the House of Representatives could be just anybody who signs up to be a politician but the Senate would be the actual elected politicians from societies ... hmm ...

Oh lordy lordy...
The politician in me says "Bring it on" but the dictator in me says "Hey! Stop it!"
Well, I can tell you one thing. Croz ain't interested in helping

doesn't have to. I don't EXPECT anybody to do anything. At this point I'm merely trying to guage the interest level for such the project
No doubt everybody will say, "Well, that'd be a good idea except I won't do it."
Governments usually have to start with a Constitution don't they. Perhaps what we'd really need is a Constitution-writing comittee ...

come to think of it, I'd better shuttup. I'm already involved with forming an h2g2 government for my RPG and I won't have time to form two. Ah, well. Perhaps in 2010 or whenever I'll run. Then my platform will call for the creation of virtual legislative and virtual judicial virtual branches of an h2g2 virtual government under an h2g2 virtual constitution.

Hmm ... well I'm gonna have to shut up about it as of now because my better sense has temporarily taken over. I couldn't do that and still run my RPG as well as it deserves given I'm not on h2g2 24/7.
