This is a test! if you did not recive this message in your personal space youre not subscribed to the Programmer's corner properly .
Well, I just made this thread to have a place to talk about Page updates and other stuff without clugging the Sign Up thread.
I updates the page and made it more GuideMLish. I Still need to work on the table for the programmer listing, I'll do that soon.
If anyone else want me to add something to the page (I added the Programming Uni Project), just let me know.
I'll browse and look for some nice pics to add to the page, and if you have suggestions for pics, or anything else, I'll be glad to get them.
Yours,
Dancer

Finally made the tabulation of the programmer list when I added DoctorMO .
Now we have to find and create(look at my page, there's a link there for Twinkle's creation that allows you to make icons for H2G2 pages using HTML Tables.
PS. What's this about neural networks?

The s-apostrophe construct signifies that the "s" is both plural and posessive, i.e. the corner belongs to more than one programmer...

standing by.... Creative Power online!
Right do we have a place were we can show off our projects and/or source?
Because I think that would be the first step

Let's *not* do it on Topica...
I have nothing against Topica, you understand, but due to long-standing shennanegans on some other threads links to any Topica forums are now routinely moderated out.
I know a free hosting company in the UK which offers a CGI-BIN facility in it's (ad-free!) service... The three catches are (1) The free servers are often sluggish to the point of non-existent, (2) There's a fairly low bandwidth limit (something like 100MB/Month) and (3) There's a total webspace limitation of 15MB, including CGI scripts.
It would be an idea for those who wants to "showcase" their skills to set up a free account there, then put a link to it on their homepage. I can't post any more specific details here without having them moderated away, but if you drop me an e-mail at [email protected] mentioning the programmers' corner and your H2G2 name, I'll give you the address of the site and sign-up details.
All they ask is that you create a username and password - they don't require any personal details. I'd suggest that we open accounts there in the name of our H2G2 "personae"...

Don't read any of my stuff, read http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A533134 instead. My neural networks Entry specialises on Hopfield nets and isn't finished.

WOW thanks man!
I already have a web space, not what I'm asking. are you sure that if we set up a page to post our links to source and projects that it would get moderated?

I was saying that if we posted them on Topica (a previously quite popular external forum) the links to them would be likely to disappear.
The other webspace I mentioned is either down at the moment, or so slow my browser's giving up on it, so I can't get the actual capacities and bandwidth limitations for the free service, but I've set up a few people's sites there without problems.

We can do what most groups here on H2G2 do, we can create a Yahoo group. What do you say?
You can leave files there, have Polls, and have a mailing list to jabble on.

I'm not a big fan of Yahoo groups either. When "Yahoo" took over GeoCities, they set about tracking down and deleting any pages which dissented from the Yahoo "view" of how the site should be run. Here at H2G2 we can (and do!) complain about the moderation - on Yahoo anyone who complains just gets their account killed quietly. They also have a team of lawyers who surf search engines looking for anti-Yahoo messages on third-party web servers, then set about intimidating the webmaster to have them removed with threats of expensive legal proceedings. The whole purpose behind this is to allow themselves to approach prospective advertisers with the message "we're the happiest community on the internet! No matter how hard you look you won't find a negative word said against us!"
Not cool people.
(I look forward to seeing what happens when they find this message and start threatening the BBC - Clash of the Titanic Legal Teams...! )
