Aberdeen in August/September?
Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Sep 5, 2003
Rapidly turning into a mini-meet this, isn't it?
Well, my train gets in just after 12, so I'll be there or thereabouts from then. Last one up the Old Seadog gets a lick o' the cat, or something.

I'd like to see you try with my cats and not need treatment at A+E - they take after their owner

I think you might be going on the same train as me there, Dr E.

Well, you could count the number of attendees at that meet on the fingers of one hand. If you were a mutant.
A big for all who came and a big
for those who dropped out and didn't bother telling us (Lost excepted, who told us at about 7pm).

A cruel but accurate assessment...
The survivors are getting together for breakfast at the beach later this morning, along with a visit to the local computer fair...

I'm usually the first to cancel appointments etc, and usually pride myself in keeping other informed and not being ignorant!
So again- i just forgot

Breakfast was excellent, though the service was a little poor...
We all had a walk along the beachfront afterwards to wallow in the fine salt spray, then split up and went our seperate ways

Ah, no worries. Made it a lot easier getting tables and, er, that's about the only advantage of a small meet really. But hey, it was good, I've never seen Aberdeen before and it is a nice place indeed. Good job we got lucky with the weather though.
And Peet's flat has to be seen to be believed Lordy, but I was impressed.

Peet's flat is definately a place of legend. Aberdeen was nice, the pubs were all good (apart from the first one but there was a reason for that), the people all friendly and the streets all disturbingly quiet. I would never have believed I would have my breakfast outside on the sea front in Aberdeen in September or, indeed, play Scalextric in a Czech theme pub.

Incidentally, Munchers, the streets were too quiet because you went home so early... I'm sure Aiden was staggering from pub to pub for nearly two more hours...

I think past midnight was a very sensible time to go to bed. If not I would never have made it for breakfast in the morning.

I couldn't possibly say.
Anyway, my pictures are now up at http://www.evibenstein.co.uk/photos/h2g2/abdsep03.html - I'll also post the log when I remember to bring it within typing distance of a PC.
