Towel Day
Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted May 11, 2003
*staggers in*
The jury's still out on whether or not FC's puppet/towel thing was an official towel. It did mop up a few spillages, but then it also claimed to be the president of Zanzibar.
VRHG won the prize for having the towel that looked like it had been round the galaxy the most.

Mister Matty Posted May 11, 2003
Finally back home, fortuitously lacking any sort of hangover (I think it was all the sugar in the cocktails ).
So, yeah, really good night. When I got in I phoned W****E to keep her up to date (and apologise for forgetting to text her last night to say "hi" from everyone) and Nizzy to tell him what he'd missed.
Oh, and a big thankyou to fords_prefect for floorspace (and a loan of The Wicker Man on DVD) and Jamie for the lift back to Glasgow .
Oh, and I seem to remember I did the horribly "studenty" thing of loudly quoting from Withnail and I when I went into Pizza Hut. Oops.
And I was sick. Oops.
Apart from that, a marvellous time was had. Even if *that* Tiffany song was played in the pub.

Hmmm, no real hangover either, despite much alkyhell and ear-slitting music. I could get used to this cocktail thing.

At least it wasn't me doing the talking to Hughey last night!
I've also spoken to our DJ last night, who apologised for the crap music. That's what you get, he said, when the records he played were requested by the clientele...

Ku'Reshtin (Bring the beat back!) Posted May 12, 2003
Monday morning. . Back at work after a pretty nice weekend. Well, Saturday was good, anyways. Sunday could've been better had I been able to sleep for a while longer and not gone to practice getting beaten up, but that's what you get.
The decision to start drinking even if I was supposedly still on antibiotics was a good one. I hadn't had a drink for a long time, and this was a good place to start.
Mort, don't worry about Jamie dozing off in the pub, he always does that.
New Hootoo mousemat have been positioned where it's supposed to be. Next to the keyboard at home.
And yes, I still claim that the sock puppet that FC brought to the meet was not a towel. Things can be made out of terry-cloth and still not be a towel.

The official Towel Day page at A1042787 has now been updated with a full list of attendees and links to the log and the pictures.
Incidentally, someone might like to check I've got the right Nizzy.

Yup, you've got the right Nizzy EV. When he bothers himself enough to visit the site again soon he may even confirm that himself.
Regarding the Log, I'd forgotten all about the "cheese toastie" comment
