Haggis is French, many a person cast dispersions on my character when I claimed that haggis was a French dish, So to clear my name I put this forward.
From Burns Night: My Supper With Rabbie
Is there that o're his French ragout,
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi' perfect sconner,
Looks down wi' sneering, scronful' view
On sic a dinner?
note french in the top line.
I hope this is enough
