A Conversation for Homosexuality

So how many of us appreciate men for their very "maleness"?
The idea of a man being attractive for his masculinity, in the same way that people appreciate a woman for her feminine charms.
A hairy chest, a trim waist, a well-developed biceps, an attractive crotch bulge ... is it just us gays who appreciate this, or do other men find it a turn-on?
I need to know!

That's probably a difficult question to answer, firstly, due to the fact that most straight men probably won't be looking up 'Homosexuality' on h2g2. Secondly, they almost certainly won't admit being jealous of the huge muscles of that guy down the gym. But, mainly because it isn't all gay men that like these stereotype male attributes. Don't get me wrong, I for one can certainly appreciate these things (apart from hairy chests) but I can also appreciate the other fine things, i.e. pert butt, boyish looks e.t.c.
Perhaps I'll try to get the guys from work to try to settle this for you.

Thanks for being so frank, Barry.
(Better than being so barry, Frank?? !!)
I know that, as a gay male, I can "appreciate" beauty in a woman, even if I get no erotic thrills or turn-ons out of it.
I assume this must "work" the same in (straight) men looking at other men.

Yes, if they're secure enough in their sexual identity. Out gay men have usually gone through a period of self-scrutiny, and can therefore be entirely comfortable appreciating female beauty without fearing (or hoping) it means they are straight.
Many straight men have never examined their sexuality in any depth, and the merest hint of attraction to another man scares them. However, more and more are now accustomed to the diversity of sexual orientations, so they can think 'there's a handsome man' without also thinking 'omygod I must be queer!'
Vive les differences.
