A Conversation for Homosexuality

The researcher overlooks the teaching of a sacred text called Leviticus which describes homosexual acts as an abomination. This is often cited by those who hold homosexuality to be unnatural.
Other abominations named in the same text include the trimming of the beard and the eating of shellfish. Somehow these strictures are less often recalled.

If I remember rightly, Leviticus also said that menstruating women should not go within four miles of a church on Sundays!

That would make it damned hard to plan a route to the shops to buy a Sunday paper. And what if you *lived* within 4 miles of a church?

Those Leviticus passages cause a lot of problems in Northern Ireland. i'm proud to be Gay and a Christian but I just had to get out. Even my own family would throw a wobbly.

I wonder then, why in other passages of the bible (note I was raised christian, but am not one myself) gay relationships are named. Such as King David, who was clearly having a gay relationship with that son of Saul..(forgot his name, samuel or something?) and not only David, there's others but I can't remember their names. So even in other parts of the bible it's treated purely natural.
And you're right, if you're allowed to shave and eat shellfish, why wouldn't you be allowed to be gay?

He was called Jonathan and yes the Judeo-Christian scholars have constantly tried to explain it away.

Hold on, I haven't got a bible to hand. Would you care to enlighten me, or else wait a day or so while I get hold of the information?
