h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Has anyone noticed how some of the adult film industries biggest stars have attained an almost cult hero status? They pop up in cameos, guest spots, awards shows, etc...and the crowds go wild!

For example, Ron Jeremy and Jenna Jameson on the cartoon 'Family Guy', Ron as a guest on MTV's 'Surreal Life', and I've seen Peter North along with a bevy of starlets on shows such as 'The Man Show'.

Just last week Harry Reams of 'Deep Throat' fame made an apperance on a new show on Comedy Central (Strangly enough he's now a real estate saleman in Park City, Utah)

So, is this the beginning of acceptance or the end of decency? Obviously I know the names and thus fall under the 'it's all in good fun' category but what's your take on this phenomenon?

Notice that (except for Jenna Jameson), all of the actors mentioned have been around a long, long time. Maybe it's like the nostaglia phenomenon where you hear '80s music all over the radio...these are actors that might be remembered by people (like me) who used to watch such movies in college, but don't keep up any more.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the Seka appearance on "Lost," as it seems she's been missing for a while.

I think Jenna Jameson does a fair bit of advertising work as well nowadays...

As do most of the top female adult stars. Just open a copy of 'Import Tuner' and you'll find lots of familier faces advetising any number of Go Fast goodies. Pop culture has finally embraced porn, adding legitamcy to what was formerly a tabboo enterprise.

Guest apperances in porn? Well Snoop Dog has his own flick and I've seen one or two B-list celebs in various cameos though sadly I've yet to be asked myself
