What were either of them thinking?
Ken Dodd appearing in Doctor Who. Wrong. Wrong Wrong. Wrong Wrong Wrong!
Graham Chapman (of Monty Python) in Iron Maiden's "Can I Play With Madness?".
Stephen Hawking is the only person ever to appear in any episode or movie of Star Trek playing "Himself".

He'd probably sooner forget the costume, certainly. But that was more a 'before they were famous' than a guest star.

He played a character called Lon in the Peter Dabison story 'Snakedance'. He wore two costumes, one very new romantic, one that just made him look like an utter tit:
