hi.
I just figured that we ought to start some new conversations on this page, what with it being the active version and all. Not that it's going to stop me from posting on the other conversation threads.
Anyway, I'm currently hanging out in Cartersville, about 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta, and I'll be here 'til the beginning of August. Anyone in the area wanna get a spur o' the moment meet together?

maybe I should be a bit more specific (duh)
I know I'll be in Georgia during August/September. There's an awful lot of us in and around Atlanta. Maybe DragonCon is going on during this time (I haven't checked). Anyone up for it?

NM and myself live about 2 hours from atlanta (well, maybe 3 depending on traffic). if you have a date on a saturday or possibly early on a sunday i am sure we'd be able to pop over. garibaldi is still in atlanta for awhile more and i am sure baron would love to get together as well. NM and i have been meaning to get over there to say hi to garibaldi face to face and get back together with baron again but have had no luck getting pulled free.

hey! I'll be at DragonCon, too!
I didn't think I was going to be there, but, lo and behold, I'm back in GA just in time. So that makes, what, two of us planning on being there? Anyone else want to come, too?

Actually, I won't be there. We're short of supervisors at work, so noe of us can take time off.

aww...
that stinks!
you won't even get to see Jefferson Starship!
(I think that someone saw "starship" in their name and thought it sci-fi-ish, or something - odd)

Yah, I'm pretty tired of this job. I'm looking to move on at the earliest oppertunity.

Hey! Paul Kanter (of Jefferson Starship) is an AVID sci-fi fan! In fact, the very FIRST Jefferson Starship album (Blows Against the Empire) was the story of a bunch of hippie-types stealing a starship and flying away to make their own society somewhere in Andromeda...
I actually attended that Con- but it wasn't as much fun as the last one. I didn't stay as long or as late, didn't consume as much booze, and didn't see as many of my friends. And since I didn't actually *purchase* a membership, I didn't get to see Jefferson Starship, either.
Oh, well...
