>>Why is the "I Vote for Me" Party so willing to run a divisive campaign?<<

Divisiveness is the lifeblood of hootoo. What do you think all that badgering is about? However respect and admiration are it's bones, and heartily supported by the I Vote for Me policies.

Do I have to get permission before I spout forth?

smiley - erm Perhaps I wasn't clear. The RF team changes their minds at every whim. That would fit nicely in.

Divisiveness is not the lifeblood of hootoo. Not even in the top ten. I believe that cake, sheep, compassion, intelligence, respect and Hypatia are things that could be called its lifeblood. Not divisiveness.

What's wrong with jandals anyway?

Well, we disagree. QED.

We don't change our minds at every whim - we're just dead keen on hegemony smashing, that's all. In fact we're the only party that's stuck to a strong central line on it throughout.

The voters don't want to know about hegemonies. They want a repeal of the smiley - cake tax, a kickass broadcast and goshdarnit, they want the italics to wear powdered wigs.

One issue campaigns are harmful to the citizenry. As are flip floppers.

Well, I can't imagine either the Community or the Guide without dissent. Think PR, the Forum, Ask...

In fact if we all agreed with each other and never changed our minds the Edited Guide would look like it had been written by smiley - sheepsmiley - blacksheep (smiley - winkeye), and the Community would be an empty mansion with the odd poor soul wandering from room to room looking for company.

And in the light of the current popularity of What Just Happened, one could argue the centrality of idiocy (and not the 2legs kind) to h2g2. You can't have idiots like that and not have division.

And yes - what is it with all the beach shoes? And you call *us* a one issue party? smiley - bigeyes

Dissent is not the same thing as divisiveness. Dissent is important. It helps create those institutions. Divisiveness creates flame wars and hate.

There's a very oppressive cake tax. Hyp is the only candidate willing to repeal it smiley - zen

How can we eat smiley - cake if we don't divide it up?

Divvy it up.

That's a bit vague, isn't it? smiley - erm Right from the start of this campaign, your tax plans have been extraordinarily hazy - "No, no, I'll provide the yachts" and the like - what aren't you telling the voters?

Post 35

Hazy? Pah. A5819367 We are the only party to provide a comprehensive tax plan entry.

I don't think it causes haze to say I'll use campaign funds for campaign purposes and not use h2g2 budget funds for anything other than their intended purposes (Badger poverty programs, hamster morale, powder for italic wigs, etc)

Er, we actually respect the electorate, rather than dictate what they want. Typical bloody hegemony behaviour, that is. We offer a hegemony-smashing ticket. At the time of the party's launch, the main hegemony was that of 2legs. Now, the evil Ozarks present the main hegemony threat. Any fool, even you, Jodan, ought to be able to see that.

Precisely which of the Ozarks are evil?

We don't dictate what they want. I talk to the voters. This is what I have found they desire. It's a statement of fact to say what they want, not an imperative smiley - smiley

As organiser of the hegemonists, I'd have to say *you* are the evil one.

The tacit acceptance of your hegemonising by other members of your party do not cover them in glory, either.
