I love it Shea. Really good job.
I goota say though, having the "take one thumb, twiddle. . ." ad infinitum joke loses its pang situated in the middle/end of the article. It did inspire the article and I feel It'd be great at the beginning.
My ideas for an opener
the twiddle-
"cheap twiddle imitatation""cheap twiddle imitatation""cheap twiddle imitatation""cheap twiddle imitatation""cheap twiddle imitatation""cheap twiddle imitatation""cheap twiddle imitatation""cheap twiddle imitatation"
repeat
However simple it may seem, the researchers at H2G2 found the twiddle to be surprisingly complex. (then onto rest of wonderfully made article)
just a few of my thoughts.

since my previous suggestion makes the steps outof order, I would say "step one" is more properly named "parts of the twiddle" or "twiddle concepts" or anything better that titles an area decribing the variety of twiddling parts. Hmm, I think I almost had something there. . .

Okay, I just had a thought ... scary, but true ... what if the Entry started with the psychology of Thumb Twiddling, and then moved into the mechanics of it. That way the "take one thumb, twiddle. . ." ad infinitum joke would be used as a punchline ...
Thoughts?
