A Conversation for My poem
Your Poem

I am a great lover of poetry in many unconventional forms!
Poetry is a great way of expressing yourself, alot of people using personal thoughts and experiences to do this.
I really don't think it should be judged on whether it is good or not, there will always be people who like it and people that don't!
If you read your poem and YOU think it is good, then there will always be somebody that will be able to identify this in your words. Such as myself.
So rather than say 'your poem is good', I would like to say that 'I enjoyed your poems very much'!

thankyou, you speak the truth and you sound like a poet yourself. which poem did you enjoy the most, just out of intreast.
And as one who feels that every poem has there merits. what do you feel about poetry compotitions?

I look at poetry competitions and feel quite sad to be painfully honest!!!
It is better to appreciate the words of a person, than to ask him to justify them and compare against others!
Poetry is personal. You could write something that means a great deal to you, let's say 10 people look at it and don't like it.... There may be 20 people out there that would....
I am not a published poet, but I like to record my experiences. Sometimes that best way of doing this is through 'unconventional poetry!' For example you may write something as follows...
Sitting, sitting, typing, sitting.
Coffee, typing, filing, sitting.
Writing, reading, checking, sitting.
wirrr, wirrr, printing, sitting.
Computer crashes.
Still sitting.
That was me just desribing one of my boring mornings! It really isnt clever, or even very profound, but somebody will read it smile and relate to it. This is what makes poetry.
What inspired you to write your poems? I noticed in Once upon a time that there are many layers, and is wait based on a personal experience? If it was..... I think you will see what I am harking on about!!!

going back to what you were saying... i do know what you mean, i don't like contestes myself either. I think it is impossible to compare poems to each other, what they look at, i feel, is entirely superficial. I think it all stems from school and how the teach poems there, analysing them, going over and over each indervidual line and never letting the poems be heard how they should, in their entirrety.
i liked you poem actual, and it did make me smile, which i think proves your point.
For my inspiration... well it comes through all channels. For Once upon a time, i took the feelings i have when i look into my garden, and imposed them into a charater who loved nothing better then walking and enjoying nature. but i am (sad 2 say) a pessimist at heart. SO i then went on to put the final stanza in to the poem to try to convay the emotion when all that was taken away from him. i tried to keep the actual poetry simple but show the deepness of the feelings at the same time. i dunno if i succeeded in that but what i do know is i ended up with a poem which i enjoy to read.
Wait, now many poeple ask wether its from my own personal experience. to all i reply this,
when u wait for someone you sit there,
thinking of that person, nothing else,
all this thought makes you wonder,
what if they were not there.
and in those 5 minute of fantasy,
you see yourself alone, for ever,
and this one chance you had, gone.
ofcourse they always turn up... but what if they didn't? and thats what my poem was about, the feeling that you get when your waiting.
sorry i think i've waffled on for rather a long time. i will leave you be now.
