A Conversation for Walking Sticks

As my wife and I like to take long walks over all kinds of terrain, we found out that having a stick kan be very helpfull. We started as usual with wooden sticks, and soon found out that there are also problems, as they are heavy and cumbersome after six or seven hours.
Observing other people, we saw that there are also metal sticks, and we looked them up in outdoor shops. They are made mostly of three metal tubes of about half a meter inside each other, which you can fasten to the length you need (longer for downhill, shorter for uphill). They have a nice grip, are light and can have a number of extra's, like a disk near the point for very soft ground. At its smallest, they fit nicely in a suitcase or backpack. Maybe you can add something about this kind of stick.
An extra for the variants: A light saber of Star Wars will probably make an impressing stick. You can try to let people believe you have got one by painting a normal stick.

Thanks for your comments. Fortunately, I noticed them before deleting my entry. Unfortunately, I'm deleting my version of the entry, because the Edited version just made the front page.
I wish the Guide had a better way to tell me about comments on my articles...

Maybe it can be placed as comment in the edited version.
Do not expect a long discussion now, as I am going on holliday for the next few weeks (using a walking stick).
