Very famous:
The Lord is my shepherd
I shall not want
He maketh me down to lie
In pastures green He leadeth me
Beside the still waters
Mmm, the Psalms of David (Dawood)
It's reported in Sahih Bukhari that God's Apostle (Muhammad) said, "The most beloved fasting to God was the fasting of (the Prophet) David who used to fast on alternate days."
David was also given the most beautiful voice of all mankind, just as Joseph was given the most beautiful appearance.
Other hadith relate that David's reading of Psalms was so entrancing that fish would leave the sea to listen when he recited, and that it was he who began the building of the Holy Temple, completed by his son Solomon, and which later became the site of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Peace

The organs of fish are not well-suited to being used outside of their habitual fluid environment, cued by evolution to react to changes in water rather air pressure, and are really intended as functioning for orientation (pitch yaw roll, etc) which are important for moving in three dimensions.
Moreover sound as a vibration propagates better in water (the molecules are closer together which transmit the energy wave more efficiently); that how come whale song can be heard over miles.
So if the fish came out of the water to listen to David this proves one, or possibly two, things.
1) Fish are stupid.
2) Holy Books make stuff up to sound impressive but they aren't really.

Good morning
>>So if the fish came out of the water to listen to David this proves one, or possibly two, things.<<
Says you, who doesn't like the idea, as you are an atheist and probably find it 'nauseating'.
What if the fish were jumping (as they sometimes do).
It doesn't necessarily mean that they came out of the water and sat down by David etc. etc.
Nevertheless, it might be untrue, but I don't have any difficulty AT ALL in believing such a thing, as I can see the effect that the reciting of Qur'an can have!!
[No! I don't mean on fish!]
Peace

Good morning Warner.
Before we begin, I'd like to reflect on that most peculiar of Venn diagrams that is life that we both think Julzes pulls his numbers from out of hats or possibly his Rs. I suggest we treasure this rare moment of agreement.
>>as you are an atheist and probably find it 'nauseating<<
Not nauseating, just funny.
>>What if the fish were jumping (as they sometimes do).

Okay I can see that, there are also lungfish that can breath out of water which was the other direction I thought you might go.
I was only having a light tease, I was rather enjoying the mental image of an audience of rapt cod, all lined up and listening eagerly. I was not taking it too seriously
If you want serious I'd ask , so why do fish jump out of the water when not being read to from the Koran or the Hadith?
>>I don't have any difficulty AT ALL in believing such a thing, as I can see the effect that the reciting of Qur'an can have!!<<
*opens mouth to say something*
>>No! I don't mean on fish!<<
Damn.
