K'nish's sound pretty similar to peirogies. Peirogies are pretty much potatoes mixed with cheese(usuallu chedder) and folded into flour dough. these are then boiled to cook the dough, then reheated later for good eatin. Usually not good to reboil, but are really good if you brown them in a little butter, great with onions. You can microwave them for a quick snack, or even eat them cold.

They're a bit different ... knishes almost have a battered-like coating ... pierogies are kinda dumpling-esque.

Ah-ha! *and* it's what the funny little alien amasador-in-a-robotic-head asks for in the restaurant just before he is assasinated by the bug in Men in Black. I had absolutly no idea what on earth (or indeed off of it) he was asking for???
