OK, I'll start with:
The quality or condition of being spiritual; attachment to or regard for things of the spirit as opposed to material or worldly interests.

It's a fantasy concept used by fanciful people to get them over the mundanity and pain of their own realities.

It is a state of mind.
But unlike headaches ,
sleep ,
pain
or drunkedness ,
it can be a mutually and happily shared experienced.

Ha ha.
You're funny jwf.
"Mutually and happily shared"...
As long as you pay afterwards with obedience and a "donation" of cash or whatever passes for money in the less developed parts of the world. Its a big scam.
I think you know it but just have trouble accepting it.

No I meant what I said.
But then, notions of 'donations' and 'obedience' never crossed my mind.
Spirituality is an innate and wondrous state of consciousness.
One which I enjoy and occasionally observe in others.
It is a free state.
Obedience and donations or any form of order are counter-productive.
Once these are introduced any possibility of 'mutual' and 'happy' sharing are lost.
Money and power are real mood killers.

Spirituality is being at one with your faith, whatever that may be. You don't have to belong to a massive congregation in an ornate building to prove your devotion to your religion. Your Divine Being(s) don't mind whether you shout 'Hallelujah' in the Albert Hall or give thanks in the privicy of your bedroom as long as you give your whole self to your devotion.

Forgive me, but it amuses me that people think this is a thing unique to religion/spirituality.
In all honesty the term spirituality has been a confusing one to me, and to many that I've spoken to. Because by the leaders of both athiest groups and major world religions - or at least the ones I've heard - it seems to be a term that is looked down on in many quarters. Athiests, probably because its easy to lump all those things together and not have to worry about it, and major world religions possibly because they use the term spirituality as a vehicle to describe all those who believe in "something else" but not their "something else".
In all honesty if it is simply an inclusive term to describe all peoples of faith, then that's fine - I guess. Or maybe its to athiests, what the reds under the bed were to America - forgive me I'm a little cynical about "devout" athiests. I don't like any ideology that throws something out of hand because it is inconvenient.
Still no ones got it right yet. And despite appearances I don't think anyone is actually any more right than the other - at the moment at least. One side gets certain things right, but screws it up with others, and like wise on each other side of the arguments. We're all failed human beings at the end of the day - but with great potential. The only clue I've had in my relatively brief stint on this planet is that we have "to accentuate the positive / Eliminate the negative" - unfortunately "accentuate the positive" gets confused for spin, so people get angry and say that you should live in the "real" / "negative" world (words which are substituted or confused far too often).
Actual positivity is the source of far more than I can explain - and far more difficult to understand or produce on demand for my feeble mind. And if that is encompassed in spirituality, as well it may be, then may we all be spiritual.

Well said that man!
>> Actual positivity is the source of far more than I can explain...<<
Absofrigginlutely!
Atheism fails at the get-go because it starts from a premise of negation and denial of established belief systems.
