Always good to see you back in the post!

So District 9 is great, Dorian Grey is one to possibly catch on TV?

Oh, did you get to see "Moon" - the Sam Rockwell one directed by Zowie Bowie?

Thanks, Psyc, as ever. Moon was on my hitlist (and doubly so after I realised what a grim summer it was in terms of quality blockbusters) but I was off my patch and didn't know where the art houses were. Hey ho!

Everything's a bit up in the air for me at the moment but I'm hoping this'll turn out to be the longest run of 24LAS in five years (only another 33 columns until we hit the mighty 200).

(By the way, I am pleased that TPTB at ITV are still clearly keen 24LAS readers: stung by my review they have decided to resurrect Primeval and thus justify Dougie Henshall's decision to clear off out of it. Much more cheered up by the news than I would ever have expected even six or seven weeks ago.)

Moon's definitely worth catching on DVD.

Finally saw District 9 on Thursday. I thought it was very much a film of two halves.

"Y'see we've got a well-made, thoughtful political allegory about how you have to become an alien to understand alienation and, erm, well, we're running out of steam here..."

"GIANT ROBOT!!! YAY!"
