I hate tents. I think pretty much because they're related to camps out wherever with no showers or whatever. Too primitive.

Ed Posted Aug 1, 2001
Why be primitive when you can be more comfortable with technology?
"D'oh!" Smiley Campaign
Clelba Posted Aug 1, 2001
why not use technology *and* be primitive, just to get away from things?

Having technology is the opposite of being primitive.
You can't really be primitive *and* have technology.

I like tents too, and it wasn't that primitive where I was, cos there were showers and I did get one. Even if it was cold. Not cold enough for me to really mind though, only cold enough for me to start turning blue...
But anyway, I enjoyed it, even though it was wet.
Was it a nice tent? Well, that depends what sort of tents you like. I actually lived in two different tents - a big one for the first week, but I think those tents are cheating really. And a little one for the second week.

Welcome back Ming
So glad to hear you slept in a nice tent
What else did you do apart from sleep in two tents and have slightly cold showers that turned you blue?

Erm, let me think, ermm... went to the 'Magna Science Centre' or whatever it's called... and something like the Robin Hood Experience or whatever, Alton Towers, and I can't remember if we did anything else. I also spent something like three days writing a letter...

You weren't reaaly in the middle of nowhere then?
You had science centres around you and you slept in tents?
Don't you think that's slightly strange?
(also must have been a very long letter )

Ming Mang Posted Aug 15, 2001
I was in the middle of nowhere, yes. We had a minibus and went out. The science centre thingy was just under an hour away.
And *grin* it was rathr a long letter... ask the Prof when he gets back at the end of next week...

Come on you also had some robin hood thingy and a tower
The middle of nowhere has nothing in it
I surpose over in England that's the best you'll get

Ming Mang Posted Aug 16, 2001
The centre was just over an hour away and Alton Towers (a theme park btw) was about three hours away.
Whats the best we'll get?

That's the closest to the middle of nowhere anyone will get over there
Not that I should be happy about it - I don't like the middle of nowhere that much.
- actually come to think of it, that probably is far away - oh well sorry

Don't be ridiculous! Quite a bit of Scotland is much more in the middle of nowhere than where I was!

i live in the middle of nowhere.
but you wouldn't believe me.
did you go on oblivion? i *love* that ride, it's gotta be one of the best in the world, and i don't thinkit's too short, i'd probly die of asphyxiation if it was any longer...
i've been camping, in pembrokeshire, and i also went to a theme park (oakwood, in pembrokeshire). i slept in my own little two person tent, it's really lush, the inner tent is made of meshy stuff you can see through, and it's a really nice dark greeny bluey colour. it's only a two personbackpacking tent. i think the big ones are cheating too. i swam in the sea, too, it was all misty and absolutely freezing, and i'm rambling aren't i? cool. well, i'll stop rambling and go and do something else now.

The middle of nowhere is a nice place to be. Unless you're with people who you don't like.
Yep, I went on Oblivion. It is a good ride, but I do think it's too short. And it's best on the front row.
Wow... nice tent. Is it new(ish)?
And you can keep rambling if you like. I like your ramblings, they make nice reading.

i agree it's better in the front row
i'm not sure about it being too short...i spose in terms of the time you have to queue for it, it's way too short, but for what it is, it's fine.
urm...my tent...i got it lsat year i think... for my birthday..it oculd have been the year before but i think it was only last year. it cost under a hundred quid, too, which is pretty good. there's a big outdoors place near us which sells things cheaper than the high street places and internet places.

Yes, the time that you have to que on days when there is a que is ridiculous, as with most other good rides. Though both imes I went there wasn't much of a que at all - ten minutes.
Cool... *jealous*
