Thank you Mr. D. And can we count on you to persuade Mrs. D to cast her vote for the Ozark Party? And to bring rock cakes to the victory party?

If I can't buy votes with the promise of rock cakes, then there is something wrong with the political process.

That's true... it's not a proper election unless at least one of the candidates offers a bribe.

I would like to add my full support to this year's campaign. I shall of course be spreading the good word and shall add it to my screen name immediately.
I fully condone the incentive program and will be making good use of it throughout the coming weeks

Thanks.
Skills of all sorts are required in a campaign - from baby kissing to speechwriting, but the easiest contribution for someone to make is to put 'Hyp for Prez' (or whatever) in their nickname, make a journal about it, and vote for the Ozark party!

Hypatia, when I met you earlier this year, little did I realise that you were on a pre-election campaign walkabout. Nevertheless, your personal qualities and your ability to appreciate curry and made a very positive impression on me. I admire your commitment to charm, humility, grace and dignity, but I am a seasoned political campaigner, so just let me know if you want any spin doctoring done or any rumours and innuendo spread around. I mean, I'm not saying that 2Legs is secretly a space alien seeking to take over the , starting with h2g2 - but I haven't seen any definite proof to the contrary.
Heck, it'd be good to have at least one American President who can string a coherent sentence together and who reads books more demanding than 'My Pet Goat'. I pledge my support.

Ormy, you are a true gentleman. I greatly appreciate your support. and to tell the truth, we are looking for a master of Spin. Would you be willing to hold the title of Official Spinmeister? You will be amply rewarded, of course.

Ormondroyd Posted Sep 11, 2005
Hyp, I would be honoured to be your Official Spinmeister. Having myself and Marv on your team will demonstrate your ability to unite the political left and right in the Ozark cause. And I am happy to accept your , which, is of course a sign of your great generosity of spirit and not at all a bribe.

You're now on the page in two spots.
Excellent.
Any chance of getting PUDDING's endorsement? We both know that Hyp can be pretty cranky

And Ormy, could you help us out with the Flat Cappers? If you recall, I was made an honorary member and even wore Baggers cap.

Ormondroyd Posted Sep 11, 2005
I remember, Hyp! Do we have any pictures of you in t'North to help you win the Flat Cap vote?
The grumpy vote could be crucial. Grumpiness motivates plenty of votes in most elections! Can I enrol you in P.U.D.D.I.N.G.? And as your spinmeister, may I suggest that a little canvassing in this thread - F90040?thread=272044 - might help capture the curmudgeons?
(Whatever you do, don't use the Smiley there.)
