A Conversation for Hypatia For President of H2G2 Campaign Headquarters

Thanks.
Hyp and I are both fairly rabidly Anti-Anti-Americanism. I've just lost respect for the RF campaign
But! I'll always have my cider.

Just asking in a semi official capacity as Post Editor
What are your plans for h2g2
"[...]"
J Posted Sep 24, 2005
Hyp is in Kansas right now, and she's allowed me to speak for her while she's gone However, I'm not really sure what you're asking Reef
Is this for the Post article? If so, I'll need to consult with some other folks. If it's off the record, I'll just say 'Smashing the RF hegemony and make the italics wear powdered wigs'

As a demi-American myself (my brother-in-law assures me that's a legitimate term, though the immigration people at Newark airport have always taken a different view), I do understand
As a Brit - well, the only thing we do better than hypocrisy, is rendering our own hypocrisy invisible to ourselves.
And, as a hootooer - the demographics are always interesting ... and the cider is lovely
Was that all though? Taking off my campaigning hat *does so* are you finding the election itself difficult? Because I know I am. I'm finding myself in various conversations where the ground seems slightly less than solid, for some reason - I've been restricting myself to wishing people 'good luck' and 'choose wisely' and so on for the last twenty-four hours.

Demi-American? Yeah, alright
The election itself has been fun for me. The only parts I've not enjoyed were when people accused me of not having enough fun But the campaigning itself isn't difficult when you've got your foot in the right camp

All right, all right ... well, *I'm* finding it weird, anyway. But whether that's because I'm taking it too seriously, or not seriously enough, I don't know. It's *weird* that I don't know. Y'know?

No it's not for the Post article, that's LeRue's domain
I just want to know why I should vote for you

J Posted Sep 24, 2005
I have no idea what you're talking about Trin
But I do know that when someone tells me how to act and how to take things, perhaps how to think... it all sounds... eerily familiar.
I say take it as it comes.

(You see, if was a good politician, I'd seize the opportunity to leap in there ...)
(Instead of which, I'm going to say hello to Reefgirl)
Hi!
(and b***er off )

Simpost And this is going to be a simulpost with Trin...
Well, Reef... I think we have the best Broadcast. A5853936 Very funny in places, I think.
But puting a Post Contributor and a UG Editor in Alabaster House might help The Post by raising some awareness about it. You know that Hyp and I are both big fans of that old rag. Actually, I was just talking abou putting a plank in he platform about supporting with Hyp last night, but she was rushed to leave for Kansas.
Having you onboard would be an excellent addition to our team, Reef Plus, we're really not a hegemony. Or maybe we are. But a little hegemoneying now and then never hurt anybody.

Oh, and as a portion of PUDDING, you may appreciate our eventual tax, Reef
(I was right, it was a simulpost... )

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Sep 24, 2005
I'm not on board for anyone I'm neutral in this
What have you promised other people who have asked this question
(Paxman eat your heart out )
will you be promising to promote, thing, or SEx if they vote for you, or is support for the Post an empty promise so I'll back push my writers into voting
"[...]"
J Posted Sep 24, 2005
Reef, if you don't vote for us, if you campaign for someone else, I'm still going to love and do all I can for it. Not saying we can find a hundred new readers each week and a dozen new writers - that would be an empty promise. But I do like the Post and Hyp and I plan to do what we can.
Having said that, I will admit to making some empty promises throughout this campaign. Giving away yachts and US States... that'll be tough to deliver on.

I'm not going to vote for anyone and the post is not going to campaign for anyone, we are going to remain neutral
You do know the President has no actual power don't you
"[...]"
J Posted Sep 24, 2005
Okay. Whatever floats your boat.
Yes, Reef, I know that It doesn't mean that the President doesn't get to do stuff. Peregrin and Bluebottle used their offices to talk about things all the time. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I hope the fact I didn't jump in and shout 'a ha!' after post 35 hasn't gone unnoticed
