I posted an article with the same title a bit earlier back, but, unfortunately, it was not exactly what people wanted. It was "too fictional". So here is the new article that attempts to explain why humans have the uncanny ability to state and restate the very, very obvious.
Thanks,
Dan Siksay

Daniel, I was fine with this article until you introduced this Daniel Siksay bloke. I thought, who's he? Is he a name I should recognise? This distracted me so much I can't remember how the article finished.
I think you'll have to restate it (differently).

Make it longer. I like long Guide Entries.
Maybe I should become a Scout...

hmm, and what about the purpose of finding something that anybody involved can agree with? I think it's necessary, if only to start a conversation in the first place without stepping on people's feet. If you use it as a gambit then you can check before unintentionally annoying people by starting right into it.

Here's yet another one where the author's been AWOL for awhile and the entry still needs some work. What say y'all?

nice article, but some times it is necessary to state the obvious.
some example include:
slavery is wrong
the concentration camps for ww2 existed
in these cases, not only does it need to be stated, but it also is needed to dispell deliberate fear, uncertainty and doubt that some people try and instill in some subjects.
but mostly, stating the obvious doesn't help

Could this entry be subsumed into something a long the lines of 'A Beginner's Guide to Small Talk'?

I have no plans as I'm no good at it. All I know about small talk comes from what George Mikes' books have to say on the subject, and it's not out of copyright

I wouldn't mind but it's a subject I get so heated on, I don't think it would be an objective piece.
