Can we just mention, for the record, that the aforementioned race riot took place in 1921? You make it sound as though it might have happened last week. Additionally, (not to justify anything, simply to clarify,) it was not the young man "tripping" or "pushing down" the girl that started the riot, but the allegation of him raping her.
