The Ideology of the Australian Labor Party

This is a politics paper I wrote, altered slightly for the guide. Tell me if you think further changes are necessary...

Rob.

Given the problems of writting about politics, I can't see any problems with it. Interestingly, I would not be allowed to write a similar article about the british labour party until after june 7th. smiley - silly

well you only have to wait a couple of weeks now!

I really like this entry, it is a good introduction to the Labour movement generally, as well as a history of the Australian Labour Party

Just though my last posting might offend you, so here is an explenation on the comment.

Us Scouts go through a lot of entries (As do a lot of none scout people) and in order to comment, and especially pick an entry we need to read through the entire pice. Yours is kind of hard to get through becaus it is not as light or funny (verry helpful tools to keep the reader's eye, but are only aproperiate in some entries) as others.

Hope were still friends, Keep the good work, and I'll be happy to read new entries from you.

Yours,

Dancer's comments seem to imply, to me at least, that Scouts are more interested in light, easy, humorous topics, and scared off by articles like this one. I hope I've got it wrong, because, in my case at least, that statement couldn't be more incorrect.

You've got an excellent piece here, and it should be headed for the Guide.

This particular statement left me *very* confused, though: "Those who subscribe to the socialist ideology posit that four elements of socialism are prominent in Labor's past. "[M]oralism, egalitarianism, rationalism and libertarianism."

Libertarianism is an element of socialism? My research has led me to believe that the two are mutually exclusive... polar opposites, just like conservatism and liberalism. I think I'll need more clarification. Check out the article on Libertarianism for more information: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A506341

I understand dancer - when you have to read that many entries, it can be tiring to concentrate on what is effectively a Pol Sci essay.. no offense taken smiley - smiley

Col Sellers, it's a while since I wrote this, give me a little while to go over my notes and I'll get back to you...

Any other comments/criticisms?

After the long hard work, and the even longer harder wait, your entry has finally been picked, approved and sent to the Sub-Eds.

When the entry finally gets into the Edited Guide, we will let you know. But please bear in mind it can take a while for entries to go through the sub-editing system.
In the meantime you can you can try and enjoy the sunny weather by going to some grassy area or to the beach. Swing on the swings, ride on the little horsies, read a book and eat a watermellon.

Or, Altrnatively, wrint a newer, even better entry and submit into PR, this might earn you another wait for the Sub Editing process.

Cheers,

Umm... can you pull it out of the Sub-Ed process for about a week? I just want to go through it again for little things like the 'libertarian' issue Col Sellers mentioned...

Congratulations!
