Just been watching the ukulele guys on breakfast telly, and they are terrific! I probably won't get to the proms this year, but I shall be looking out for them in future shows.

There are some great uke bands around these days.

The Re-entrants have become a full-time gigging group recently and are superb.

Watching two bald 6feet tall blokes singing 'Baby hit me one more time' is more than scary.

I also work with the guy in this duo.

They have been playing together for less than a year and are already getting the odd paid gig.

Ukes are being used more in schools than recorders these days. I think because they are more accessible and lead easier into guitars which are a bit easier to pick up outside of schools than other wind instruments and hence there is more chance kids will carry on with music.

They are also cheap being able to pick a playable one up for about £15.

Hopefully, I'll get to see UOGB again soon. I saw them a few years ago and they were amazing.
