*Takes some plums from the basket and wonders into the kitchen looking for ingredients...*
Well, there's all the usual stuff, flour and sugar, eggs, butter and baking powder. Any lemon juice ?
*spots a bag of lemons and takes one out*
and how about buttermilk?
*a perusal of the extremely well stocked refrigerator finds a jug of buttermilk*
oh good
*puts the oven on and finds a nice ovenproof dish of just the right size*
*wipes butter over the inside of the dish*
*hunts around for a large bowl and sharp knife*
*stones plums*
...
...
...
(doesn't stoning plums always seem to take ages?)
*plumps the plums, some sugar, lemon juice and flour into the bowl and mixes them up. Pours the gooey sticky mess into the oven dish.*
*quickly washes and dries bowl*
*puts some butter in a pan on a low heat and some more flour, sugar and some baking powder in a bowl*
*rescues the butter as it just melts*
*beats an egg and adds it to the buttermilk*
*checks the butter is cool but still melted and adds that to the buttermilk*
*mixes flour mix with buttermilk mix till sticky and doughy*
*spoons the doughy stuff over the plums*
*sticks it all in the now hot oven and sets the timer*

timer's ringing
*peeks in oven*
ooh it's perfectly done
*puts on oven gloves and gets out the dish*
*gets the jug of double cream from the fridge, some bowls, spoons and a serving spoon and takes them through to the dining hall*
*brings out the dish*

Has anyone noticed that if you put next to it looks like some pervert peekin' through the window? Just thought I'd point it out *steals a bit of cream. Teehee*

Plum Cobbler on a snowy day sounds lovely.
Just hang on whilst I make some Bird's Custard.
*follows the instructions on the tin*
Sorry, but no one makes proper English custard anymore, except smart restaurants

I hadn't got around to providing beverages yet, thanks Titania - as for time, seeing as everyone appeared to be asleep for the last few days, breakfast (breaking the fasting) seemed to be the most appropriate meal.
Anyway, who has *never* had a breakfast item for a non-breakfast meal or snack?

Here you go, Hati...
Ah - never thought about breakfast as 'breaking a fasting' Ændr... but then, if you've been sleeping all night, you've been sort of fasting, eh?
