I'm dating a scientist who says the media always get it wrong, especially during emotive issues like cloning and the use of human embryos. Witness - a guy in one tabloid said hundreds of thousands of embryos had been used in research since the 1991 Act, while a scientist wrote in another paper that the actual figure was 119 used to aid infertile couples. So, who do we believe in this issue? Add the debate over the environment and global warming, and you can literally take your pick.

Regarding Cloning. This is largely a pointless activity. The only reason someone would want to clone would be to clone themselves if they are unable to have children or would prefer any "children" to be an exact copy of themselves. The whole media thing about cloning (to the extent that it is illegal in many countries) is a result of sci-fi films that depict cloning as a way of creating an "army" of "superhumans". Many people probably think cloning means you can take a 40 year old and make a clone the same age with the same memories.
