h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi, stumbled across this today, thought it'd be cool to voice some opinions to the people who i have not yet voiced them to. Or something. Anyway, onto the thing that's narking me.

I keep being branded a devil worshipper, in many cases by people who have never seen me. However, i today found out that most of my class at college also think this and are actually scared of me! Just because I wear black and listen to rock music. Just for the record, I'm not a devil worshipper, or at least i wasn't when i last checked. I mean, how petty is that. They all ignore me and some refuse to make eye contact. As well as being mildly annoyed, i am also highly amused by it, and plan to freak them out by drinking fake blood. I'll let you know how it all goes.

I'm curious to know how you think this might help? I mean if it bothers you that they think this then why perpetuate it? Granted I don't think it's worth the time/effort/general grief to try and convince them you're not, but then why give them more fuel for their silly in' fire?

He said "As well as being mildly annoyed, i am also highly amused by it", this suggest that he is more amused than annoyed, so it makes sense to carry on the joke.

As for my taste in music, i don't really have one. I don't listen to a lot of music, and have never heard of the band you mentioned.

Sounds like fun to me. I've always had fun watching people avert their eyes, shy away, or even cross the darned street to get away from me, the tall odd-duck in combat boots and a trenchcoat. 'Tis absolutely hilarious the way some people can act around something they aren't familiar with. Good luck with your experiment! *Looks up at name* frag... I gotta change that, grr...

Its funny the connection people make between wearing black an the devil, especially when everyone knows the devil has a bright red suit with pointy horns an a trident.
When I was at school people asked me if I worshipped the devil also. I told them not to be so ridiculous, everyone knew that the devil worshipped me!
Lets me know how the joke progresses, the only problem might be watching how easy it is to freak them out.
oh and SOAD are amazing. nuff said.

Hello, I'm new also and this conversation struck me straight away. I'm also accused of being a satanist, a witch, a druid, you know, all the good stuff! Why? Because I have a penchant for velvet and a couple of tattoos!

One of the girls I work with actually told me once that (when she first met me) she decided I was the kind of girl she'd like to pass on a darkened street. God bless 'em all, I say.

Oh, good, glad i'm not the only one. It was starting to make me paranoid. I actually think that the concentrated unblnking stare might be a good way of going about it, as it seriously freaks people out when you do it to them.

I think System of a Down are okay. 'Chop Suey' is superb and 'Aerials' is alright, but I don't really hear much heavy rock. I'm into that kind of thing, but less so. Muse, Ash, Queens of the Stone Age, The Coral, that kind of indie stuff.
I can't imagine actually thinking someone is a devil-worshipper. You see crowds of teenage Goths and Moshers around most towns, but you know it's not really much more than a uniform that they're more comfortable in than fashionable stuff.

i have also been regarded with suspicion.people thinking i have the devil in my house every night.how silly people can be thinking that just because you listen to certain music or dress in a certain way that you are in league with the devil.well i don't care what they think.in fact if they think i have that much power then i just laff.they are just very silly to me.

I totally agree. If they say it to my face then I'm going to lay down an intelligent, structured argument and watch their arguments crumble into dust when they can't back them up. And before someone else says it, you can change your nickname if you go to Preferences in the options. Yay!

i am good at acting like im possessed tho i can roll my eyes into the back of my head... well sorta, i half close my eyes and look up into my eyelid so it looks like it and if you talk while breathing in it also helps so you should actually try to get them to worship the devil also because they think that he is possessing you...
