Hi Atlantic

Sorry nobody has been to say hello and welcome to the h2g2as. I'm sure one of the 'officials', as it were, will come and sort things out soon.

I just hang out here occasionally and subscribe to the society page. That's how I picked your request up!

Tell us a bit about yourself if you want to (not compulsory). Which hemisphere are you in, North or South? Which time zone/country? What are your interests? Are you in a place that will see the Lunar eclipse on 9th of November? (Have a look here for details - http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/OH/image/LE2003Fig4.gif) Hope the link works!

Well I am in Northern hemisphere, GMT+0

Yes, I should be able to see the eclipse, but I will be in Edinburgh, so the smog may obscure the view! smiley - smiley

I got interested in astronomy when my grandfather got his telescope, through which Jupiter was barely visible.

I have my own telescope now, although it's really only good for moon observing.

I am interested in the really deep space stuff and regularly visit the Hubble website.

Hi again Atlantic

I have just had an e-mail from NASA to say that the eclipse is on the 8th. smiley - huh

I shall just have to be out both nights!

I am really interested in the deep sky stuff too. I also like the Cosmology and might write a Guide entry on it all some time (pigs might fly too!?smiley - silly).

turvysmiley - ermsmiley - cheers

I've written one on De Sitter (A1109576), that is somewhat interesting, if I do say so myself. smiley - smiley

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! smiley - smiley

Oops I'm getting so incredibly slack at checking my h2g2 pages of late what with my course work (http://ads.nickbailey.co.uk), uni work (http://www.soton.ac.uk/~njb300) and new website (http://www.nickbailey.co.uk) all happening at once. My that really was shameless advertising, I'm sorry.

Anyhoo hello and welcome, it will be great to have you as a member. Thanks turvy for getting in the welcome quickly (I shall make you an official welcommer)

I'll add you to the members list later today, but untill then please had over to the Yahoo page (link on the members page) and sign up to the discussion list. We welcome your input.

Groovey,
Nick
