A Conversation for The Myth Of 42 [(5-3+0+5) * (6+0) = 42]

Thanks! It took me a while to get round and actually do the math, but it turned out OK. But I haven't made any real contribution to the guide, so maybe I don't qualify as a true researcher anyway...

You have already made the greatest contribution of them all: *YOURSELF*
That's the only thing that really counts.

I wanna go at yours...

(15-3)*6-(6!/4!)=42. (I hope)

Perfect. You could even leave out the second pair of brackets ...
A good thing to check out your calculation is Google, believe it or not.
Just enter "(15-3)*6-6!/4!" into google and see what happens ...

If you wanted a few others to choose from, my 42-solver program found an unusually large number of different solutions just using +-* and /, among which were:-
1/5*3*(66+4) (or 1/5*3*(6+64) )
(1*5/3+6)*6-4
1-5-3*6+64
1-5+36+6+4
(1+5)/3+6*6+4
1+5-(3-6-6)*4
1+5+3*6*(6-4)
15*3-6/(6-4)
15-3+6+6*4
(1+5)*(3+6-6+4)
(1+5-3)*6+6*4
1+53-6*(6-4)
I am a true researcher.
Not him Posted Jul 3, 2004
I can probably find one of these:... for 247749 it would be 2+4+(7*7)-4-9 does that suit?
are there any other obvious ones I should know about?
